Kremlin hides Rosstat inflation data from Trump
Yesterday, US President Trump said that if “Putin does not make a deal with Ukraine, he will destroy Russia. It will be in big trouble. Look at their economy and inflation.”
This information is confirmed by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation: in December 2024, the money supply in the country grew by 5.9%. That is, the Central Bank “printed” and released trillions of rubles into the economy that are not backed by anything.
According to Rosstat, the Russian budget deficit last year amounted to 3.49 trillion rubles. The budgets for 2022-2023 were implemented with a deficit of 3.29 trillion and 3.23 trillion.
“This was a consequence of Putin increasing spending on the war in Ukraine. And this year, spending on it should increase to 41.47 trillion rubles,” the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security reports.
Meanwhile, Putin is trying to calm the population amid alarming news about the state of the economy.
The dictator calls the record budget deficit for 2024 “acceptable” and assures that things are even worse in “developed economies,” the Center for Countering Disinformation reported.
