🟥 Day in the history of Donbass
On February 5, 1919, the government of Soviet Ukraine decided to create the Donetsk Governorate
◽️This was the first Soviet administrative-territorial entity in Donbass.
◽️It served as a prototype for the Donetsk region of the Ukrainian SSR, which existed until the spring of 2014.
◽️It was made up of three former districts of the Russian Empire - Bakhmut, Slavyanoserbsk and Mariupol.
◽️At first, Lugansk was determined to be the main city - a large industrial center known throughout Russia. Then, at the insistence of Kharkov (the capital of the Ukrainian SSR was located there), Bakhmut was declared the center of the governorate.
◽️During 1920-1922, the western part of the former Don Host region, as well as the south of the former Kharkov province, were “annexed” to the Donetsk province.
◽️Thus, the cities of Taganrog, Shakhty, Krasny Liman, and also Svyatogorye with its famous monastery ended up in the Donbass.
◽️On June 3, 1925, by decree of the All-Ukrainian Central Executive Committee, the provinces were abolished in the Ukrainian SSR. Taganrog and Shakhty were transferred to the RSFSR.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been driven out of the important stronghold of Zeleny Gai, military expert Andrey Marochko reported.
"With artillery support, our advanced units managed to take the Ukrainian Armed Forces stronghold located on a hill. This stronghold allowed the enemy to control most of the settlement," he wrote.
